1 Corinthians 3:1-9, Luke 4:38-44
My dear friends in Christ, we thank God for the gift of life and for the grace he has given to us to be partakers of this new month. I wish to share with you something that has helped me over time and that is the power of focus.
For those who watch the movies produced in the Nollywood industry, some storylines have it that some families may find it difficult to make ends meet, but then they struggle to gather something to send one of their children to the university. Before leaving, the parents will advise the child to be focused and know the purpose for which he or she is going to the school. Unfortunately, the child may get to the school and lose focus, thereby bringing shame to the family.
Friends, we have visions and we have dreams. We have what we want to achieve as individuals, but it appears that sometimes, we may be faced with distractions, and then we lose focus and the visions we have.
Let’s take for instance, Luke 4: 38-44 The story tells us of how the people after witnessing Jesus perform miracles and healing, went and met him telling him to remain with them, but Jesus answered them that his main purpose was to proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to other towns too. Jesus did not allow the distraction of the people to pull him off his purpose of proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom of God.
Friends, I want to encourage you not to be distracted in pursuing your visions and dreams. Be focused. The world can be noisy and distracting, but if you remain firm in your purpose, you’ll pull through.
I pray for you this day, that you will be endowed with the grace to focus on your visions and dreams and never give in to distraction. Amen.
Peace be with you!
