“… Jesus went up into the hills and summoned those he wanted. So they came to him, and he appointed twelve; they were to be his companions and to be sent out to preach, with power to cast out devils…”
The mountains and hills are known as places of prayer and close encounter with God for the israelites. Hence, the choice of the hills by Jesus is not necessarily only for the purpose of selecting the twelve. It suggests Jesus’ turning to His father in prayer before making a crucial decision of selecting his closest associates to whom He entrusted the mission of spreading the good news to the nations.
Many have failed because of bad decisions and choices of life, which resulted from the non involvement of God and lack of divine inspiration to guide them.
We must realise that we can not just do things on our own terms and expect God’s blessings in the things we do if we have not invited Him into our plans.
The year is still fresh, consequently as we make our plans for this year, we must invite God to inspire our thoughts and actions, and to help us make decisions and choices that we would not regret.
Jesus has set the example for us. We must follow this example closely and involve Him in all we do that we may not regret the aftermath of our plans.
May Jesus Christ come into our situations and inspire us for greatness 🙏🏾🙌🏾
Peace be with you 🙏🏾🙌🏾
