A PRAYER FOR PRESIDENT MUHAMMAD BUHARI AND OUR COUNTRY NIGERIA( With Rev Fr Femi Victor Orilua, CSSp)

In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O Lord! Our help in ages past. You are the Eternal king of all nations. You have the whole world in your hands. You are all powerful and no one can withstand you. Your reign is supreme and no one can contend with you. We appreciate you for who are.

We place our country Nigeria into your watchful care. We present our leaders, both civil and religious before you. We have sinned against you in many ways. To you, true amnesty belongs.  In your loving mercy, grant us your divine pardon. Open up your heavens and let the rain of your mercy shower upon us.

We present President Muhammad Buhari into your able hands. Grant him unfailing health of mind and body. His death has nothing to profit our nation. Leading us in your path is the way to total restoration of our dear country. The heart of the king is in your hand Lord. Proverb 21:1. Kindly take over his life. His seat and what it stands for is a determinant for either growth or retrogression in our nation. That is your seat Lord. Take what belongs to you. Guide his steps. Direct his heart.  Detach him from local and foreign invaders who offer him promises of support but are ravenous wolves, those who sign deadly treaty in secret, who pose as friends of our nation in the day but are true enemies of our progress. Those who can do whatever it takes to keep us in perpetual slavery. Cancel whatever pact they must have signed with him which may amount to the ruin our country.

We are your vine, planted by your own right hand. Visit this vine which your right hand has planted. Help us to appreciate all our human and material resources. Drive far away from us, the Spirit of greed. Heal our land of the present Corona virus pandemic. Put an end to religious rivalry and insecurity in our nation. Make us patriotic and let your kingdom come in our time. We make our prayer through Jesus Christ Our Lord.
