The readings today emphasise the need to live by faith in anticipation for the fulfilment of the promises of God in the lives of His faithful with the assurance that it won’t take a long time before God enters into our different situations.
Thus, in the first reading – in the letter to the Hebrews, we received the promise that “Only a little while now, a very little while,
and the one that is coming will have come; he will not delay…”The one who is coming is Christ, and His mission is transformation form negativity to positivity.
In as much as we don’t receive immediately whatever we ask from God, we need to develop endurance to pass the test of our faith which grows and gets stronger as we allow ourselves to the disposition of God whose timing is best and does not disappoint.
More so, as stated in the first reading, “…The righteous man will live by faith, but if he draws back, my soul will take no pleasure in him…” God takes pleasure in our expression of faith in Him, and it displeases Him if our faith is shaken by any means.
This need for faith is equally visible in the gospel in the parables of the sower and that of the mustard seed.
As a sower sows but can not account for the growth of the seeds he sows, the same way, we can not fully understand the pattern of the working of God, consequently, to walk with God, we need faith for it helps us see beyond our physical limitations trusting in the better plans of God that He will act when the time is right for Him and to our best interest.
Therefore, we pray for the grace of perseverance as we wait in faith for God’s intervention in our life’s situations.
Peace be with you 🙏🏾🙌🏾
