*THURSDAY OF THE 21ST WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR ( A)*

*ST MONICA, ( MEMORIAL)*
_Born in 331 into a Christian family in Africa, Monica married a non- christian with who she had four children, the oldest being Augustine. Thanks to her prayers and influence, her husband received baptism, but it would be much later on, after perseverance and ongoing prayer, that Augustine would also embrace Christianity. She died at Ostia(Italy) in 387, her mission accomplished._ (Daily missal)_

R1:- 1 Corinthians 1:1-9
PS:- 145:2-3.4-5.6-7 (R. 1b)
Accl:- Matthew 24:42a.44
Gosp:- Matthew 24:42-51

It is dangerous when we always believe that there is time. Even if we believe so, we should know that there is time for everything.

Moreover, when we are drunk by “no hurry” mentality, we may run risk of running behind schedule. Time does not wait for anybody.

_who is then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time? Blessed is that servant whom his master when he comes will find so doing”_ Matthew 24:45-46

Delay or procrastination has price tag. We shall pay for all time wasted, because every moment comes with its own assignment.

Borrowing the faith of St Monica, and making judicious use of our time, may the Lord grant us the grace of final perseverance.

May the Lord direct our paths. May we always listen to his promptings, that we may always be on duty at the service of his love. Amen.
