HOMILY, WEDNESDAY OF THE TWENTY- FOURTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR ( A)
ST CORNELIUS, PP & ST CYPRIAN B.M ( Memoria* l)
( _Cornelius was chosen to be pope in 251 and, during the three years of his pontificate, he endured many problems on account of various heresies. Thanks to the help he received from St Cyprian, he was able to enforce his authority. He was exiled and killed just outside Rome in 253. Cyprian was born at Carthage in 210 and bishop of his native city in 249. He guided his Church in an excellent manner, staying close to the Christians and strengthening them in their faith. During the persecution of Valerian he was first exiled and then, in 258, martyred for the faith_ .) Daily Missal Page 1754.

Without the love for what we do cannot enjoy it.
Without genuine love we cannot live well with people.
There are many rivers to cross on the way to life.
Unless our anguish is overcome by love, we cannot be fulfilled in life.
Like Saints Cornelius and Cyprian who gave their lives for Christ, let us pour out our lives in love for our brothers and sisters. Let us fix our gaze on God the only one who can see us through.
His banner over us is love. Amen.
