Understanding Our Unique Roles in God’s Plan

We cannot be everything. Just as the body has different parts, each with its own specific function, so too do we all have unique roles.

The most complex and vital parts of the body are hidden from view, only visible through major surgery. In the same way, when we focus on enhancing our outward appearance, we may forget that what truly sustains us lies within.

This applies to society as well—no one is too insignificant to be treated with disrespect, and no one is so important that they deserve all the praise. We are all God’s creations, each valuable in our own way.In the letter of St James 2:1-5, he forbids that we make distinction between the rich and the poor when we come rating people when it comes to faith.

He said, “My brothers, do not try to combine faith in Jesus Christ, our glorified Lord, with the making of distinctions between classes of people.”Before God, we are the same. We are product of grace. Our financial muscle or position do not guarantee divine approval.

We are judged by how disposed we are at God’s service. God treats us based on how we approach him, not how the society or the church rates us. “Returning from the district of Tyre, Jesus went by way of Sidon towards the Sea of Galilee, right through the Decapolis region.

And they brought him a deaf man who had an impediment in his speech; and they asked him to lay his hand on him. He took him aside in private, away from the crowd, put his fingers into the man’s ears and touched his tongue with spittle.” Mark 7:31-37The passage describes how Jesus healed a deaf man, treating him in a way that addressed his specific needs.

Recognizing the uniqueness of his condition, Jesus took him aside from the crowd and gave him special attention. This shows that Jesus values our individuality and desires to meet us personally. He does not let the crowd overshadow our unique identity.

We should not be envious of others, for God has time for each of us. No one is insignificant. God seeks a personal encounter with each of us, offering his undivided attention because he is the author of time.May we see the Lord’s presence in everyone and may we never look down on anyone.
