HOMILY OF WEDNESDAY OF THE THIRD WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME
Hebrew 10:11-18, mark 4:1-20.
THEME: LEVELS OF GRACES
When we realized that God distributes his gifts to people according to their capacity, we will know that there is no ground for competition in whatever form. All we need to do is to work towards increasing our capacity to contain more of his divine deposits. Our knowledge of him helps us to understand how much he can achieve in or through us. This will in turn help us to be open up to his promptings.
In our today’s gospel, while narrating the parable of the sower, the Lord intimates us with the idea of the seed that fell in good soil. These brought forth grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirty-fold and sixty-fold and a hundredfold.
If the word of God does not bear equal fruits in the lives of those who accept it, then those have no fertile place for it must be listless. There are levels of graces. Our capacity to contain God’s gifts and blessings is consequent of many factors in our lives. All we need to do is to open up to him and ask that his will be done in us. We must equally strive to get rid of whatever may prevent the word of God from bearing fruits in our lives.
May the Lord expand our coast. May he grant us the grace to contain more of him through Christ our Lord. Amen.
