HOMILY OF FRIDAY OF THE 4TH WEEK OF EASTER.

Acts 13:26-33, John 14:1-6

THEME: ACTING THE DIVINE SCRIPT

When we live a life of total surrender to God’s will, every opposition we face in life becomes a means of reaching our goals.

Paul addressed the congregation in the synagogue of Antioch in Pisidia, “My brothers, sons of Abraham’s race, and all you who fear God, this message of salvation is meant for you. What the people of Jerusalem and their rulers did, though they did not realise it, was in fact to fulfil the prophecies read on every sabbath.”

Nevertheless, if we follow our ways and refuse to obey God’s directives, whatever suffering we meet becomes our own personal lot.

However, we suffer deep agony if we do not take delight in the lot which the Lord marked out for us. Suffering can be sweet when it is capable of saving.

How do we know when we are suffering as a result of our personal choice? When can we say that our burden makes meaning?

May God grant us the wisdom to know his perfect plan for our lives. May nothing in the world dim our vision of his eternal will. Amen.
