THEME: HOW EVIL CORRUPTS
Evil exists and it often corrupts in ways we do not suspect. But as long as we keep on making efforts on the path of the good, it will never choke us to death because there is always time for reckoning.
Explaining the parable of the darnel, which was planted among the wheat, the Lord makes it clear that God has the final say over what we may be passing through. Evil will surely come to an end.
However, just the way the darnel was planted among the wheat in the night, there are moments when the devil injects bad ideas and thoughts into our mind. It often comes in those dark nights of our souls, when the world cravings crowded our minds, and we lose the consciousness of God who is ever present with us to keep us on the way of true peace.
At times, through what is pleasing or acceptable to us, evil can creep in and destabilise the perfect will of God in our lives. It takes patience and keen attention. The thin line between the good and evil makes it difficult for us at times to make a perfect choice. All we need is to continuously strive to align ourselves towards the light of Christ, so that the impulse of evil in the world will not suffocate the life of grace in us.
May we always gain the strength to triumph over evil in our lives, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
