RECOGNIZING THE FINGER OF GOD

41

HOMILY, TUESDAY 14TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME, YEAR A

Hosea 8:4-7.11-13, Matthew 9:32-38

THE BANQUET GIFT: The best of all human decisions, when made without God can only give accidental gratification and not ultimate fulfillment.

Thus says the Lord: Israel made kings, but not through me. They set up princes, but without my knowledge…….for they sow to the wind, and they shall reap whirlwind.” Hosea 8: 4&7

Without the touch of the Lord, the best of our speech does not make us anything more than a mute. Having the mind of God, we can recognize his works and we will not miss the seasons he has designed for our visitation.

But the Pharisees said, he casts out demons by the prince of demons.” Matthew 9:34. A dwarf mind cannot give things their rightful place. It only attracts the negativity that it sees.

Let us place our time, treasures and talents at God’s disposal so that he will use them for an eternal harvest. For, “The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few.” Matthew 9:37

PRAYER

O Lord, prompt all my actions. Make me a channel of praise. May all that I have be sown for an eternal harvest. Thy kingdom come.
