HOMILY OF WEDNESDAY OF THE 8TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME
Zephaniah 3:14-18, Luke 1:39-56
THEME: CONNECTING WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE
Those who do not know your silent pain may not be able to help you in the actualization of your dreams. When the news of your approaching blessing comes to their hearing, they may cast stone on you, or even sell you into slavery. There is no point celebrating our booty with those who are not interested in the efforts we make to reach our goals.
More so, we need people who know what it means to dwell in the miraculous to understand what God can do in our lives. Our testimony may suffer unwritten setbacks or be thwarted if shared with the wrong persons.
It is unusual to hear that a virgin is conceived with a child. The message of the angel to Mary was a huge shock to her. Thanks be to God who made Angel Gabriel to make a reference to Elizabeth who have chosen to hide her own testimony all the while. The only one who could understand Mary’s story would be Elizabeth. So, she set out to visit her. Their meeting was ecstatic. The two women carrying in their wombs two personalities with connected mission; one precursor, the other, the Messiah.
All we need to do in our lives is to pray to discern God’s will and strive to do it.
God will always link us with the right people who can resonate with what we do. He will connect us with those people who can help us to do his will.
We pray that our lives be a life of daily affirmation to God’s plan. Amen.
