HOMILY OF WEDNESDAY OF THE THIRD WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME
CONVERSION OF ST PAUL
Acts 22:3-16, Mk 16:15-18
THEME: JESUS: THE PRINCIPAL AGENT OF CONVERSION
We learn from the circumstances around the conversion of Saint Paul that the work of conversion is an act of God. Paul was a strong force against the spread of the gospel of Jesus and no man could challenge him. But when the time came for Jesus to arrest him, it happened.
At times, when we preach, we may be expecting a radical change in people, or we may want them to turn around based on the words we have spoken to them. We think that our rhetoric or eloquence suffice to turn their life around.
It is the Lord himself who brings his people back to himself. It is not what we can do on our own. Therefore, when we preach the gospel we must make sure that we preach exactly the word of God without mixing it with our own personal sentiments or garbed it with our own ideas. We too must learn from the words which the Lord has put into our hearts. We must strive to hear them distinctly and allow them to transform us.
More so, we must submit ourselves to the prompting of the Holy Spirit, so that the Lord may use us to utter the exact word which he knows will turn the life of our audience around.
May the Lord use us to reach out to those who he has destined to save. Amen.
This Reflection is Great and spirit filled. May our Lord JESUS CHRIST continue to convert those who are against HIS CHURCH, Amen.
Thanks dear Fr for sharing, remain blessed
