HOMILY OF THURSDAY OF THE 4TH WEEK OF EASTER.

Acts 13:13-25, John 13:16-20

THEME: WHEN THE HONEY IS BITTER

It was said, “How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things!” Rom: 10:14-15,

However, we will save ourselves from shock, when we reconcile with the fact that our friends are our potential stabbers. Oftentimes, their cruelty helps us look beyond the comfortable moment towards our eternal destiny. This realization helps us to embrace suffering for the sake of the gospel.

Jesus said, “I know the ones I have chosen; but what scripture says must be fulfilled: Someone who shares my table rebels against me.”

He knew it would happen, and he was ready to embrace the moment. He taught his disciples to learn how to embrace their moment of pain as they would take his message across the world, where perversion pose threat to the truth of the Gospel.

No servant is greater than his master, no messenger is greater than the man who sent him.” It is as sweet as honey working for Jesus, though the honey of his mission is bitter, it is noble standing for him who has come to save a falling world.

May the Lord strengthen us amidst the resistance in the world.
